Being a homeowner for the last 12 years, and a landlords for 4 while living abroad, Joey Cecala was consistently frustrated by the huge amount of maintenance chores that needed to be done in order to keep his home in tip-top condition, as well as with the lack of quality, trustworthy property management options in the area. With a full-time job and four children to take care of, there was always something in his home that needed attention and never enough time in the day to take care of it. “I wish there was someone to do all this for me,” was a statement made at least every week. With Joe being a property manager himself for a five star five diamond residential building in New York, he started thinking about how great it would be to provide the kind of services he thought were lacking for other home and investment property owners. Thus, the idea for 6th Borough Property Management was born.
“I was a property manager in NYC, and it was so frustrating for me as a homeowner because it was difficult to find a management company that would provide prompt, reliable services in the same way that I provided them for my residents. Joe, born and raised in Hoboken and a property manager himself for the last 5 years with the Mandarin Oriental Residences in New York City, brings with him over 15 years of experience in the real estate and hospitality services industry. From working with top property management companies like Gumley-Haft and Brown Harris Stevens in luxury condominiums in NYC, to building hotels and casinos in South East Asia, there isn’t a single property management issue that he hasn’t come across. Joe loves to travel to new places and watch movies with his family. He also loves to fix things and will not look to replace anything until he has tried absolutely every solution to make it work himself.
